What You'll Need

2 tablespoons butter
1 medium onion, chopped (about 1/2 cup)
2 teaspoons minced garlic
2 pounds ground beef
1/4 teaspoon anise seeds, crushed
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
2 cans (11 ounces each ) Campbell’s® Condensed Tomato Bisque Soup
2/3 cup half and half
3 slices American cheese, cut up
6 leaves fresh basil leaves, very thinly sliced
1 pound rotini (spiral) pasta, cooked and drained

How to Make It

    Heat the butter in a 6-quart saucepot over medium heat.  Add the onion and garlic and cook until the onion is tender, stirring occasionally.  Add the beef, anise and ginger.  Cook until the beef is well browned, stirring often to separate meat.  Pour off any fat.

    Stir the soup, half-and-half, American cheese and basil in the saucepot and heat to a boil.  Reduce the heat to low.  Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.  Add the pasta and toss to coat.  Serve with grated Parmesan cheese, if desired.
