Campbell's Potato-Crust Pizza Recipe

What You'll Need

1 tablespoon active, dry yeast
1/4 cup warm water
4 ounces (1 package) roasted garlic-flavored instant mashed potato flakes
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup cool water
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon honey
1 to 1 1/2 cups tomato sauce
1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (about 6 ounces)

How to Make It

    Stir the yeast and warm water in a large bowl until the yeast is dissolved. Add the potatoes and flour and stir until mixed.

    Stir the cool water, olive oil and honey into the flour mixture until well mixed. Knead the mixture by hand for 5 minutes or until the dough is smooth and elastic.

    Spray a large bowl with vegetable cooking spray. Place the dough into the bowl and turn to coat. Cover the bowl with a towel and set it in a warm place to rise for 1 hour.

    Heat the oven to 400°F.

    Punch down the dough and divide it into 2 equal halves. Sprinkle the work surface with additional flour. Place each half of the dough on the floured surface and roll it out until it is very thin. The shape of the pizza doesn't really matter, round or square. The idea is for it to be homestyle, not perfect.

    Place each dough circle or square onto a baking sheet or pizza pan. Top each with the desired amount of sauce, spreading evenly to the edges of the dough. Evenly top with the cheese.

    Bake for 17 minutes or until the edges of the crust are lightly browned.

    Remove the pizzas from the oven and let stand for 3 minutes. Cut the pizzas into slices to serve.
