What You'll Need

1 orange
1/3 cup heavy cream
3 tablespoons Crisco® butter flavor all-vegetable  vegetable shortening
3/4 of a 12-ounce package semi-sweet chocolate pieces (about 1 1/3 cups)
2 tablespoons orange liqueur
Dippers: Pound cake, angel food cake, strawberries, kiwis, pears, bananas, peeled orange segments, cut into bite-sized pieces

How to Make It

    Grate 1 1/2 teaspoons zest from the orange.

    Heat the heavy cream and orange zest in a heavy 1-quart saucepan over medium heat to a simmer.

    Reduce the heat to low.  Add the shortening, chocolate pieces and half the liqueur and cook and stir until the mixture is smooth.  Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the remaining liqueur.  Pour the chocolate mixture into a fondue pot or slow cooker.  Serve warm with the Dippers.
