What You'll Need

2 tablespoons butter
1/3 cup finely chopped onion
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 cups Swanson® Chicken Broth (Regular, Natural Goodness® or Certified Organic)
1 package (10 ounces) frozen broccoli, thawed and chopped
2 cups nonfat milk
1 1/2 cups cubed light or regular American pasteurized process cheese product (about 6 ounces)

How to Make It

    Heat the butter in a 3-quart saucepan over medium heat. Add the onion and cook until it's tender.

    Stir in the flour. Add the broth and stir until the mixture is smooth. Cook and stir until the mixture boils and thickens. Add the broccoli and cook for 2 minutes. Reduce the heat to low. Add the milk and cheese and cook, stirring until the cheese is melted.
