Barbecued Turkey Pockets

You can see why this dish is loved by both kids and adults. It features pita pockets filled with roast turkey and a tangy barbecue sauce, that can be eaten at the table or on the go.

1 can (10 3/4 ounces) Campbell's® Healthy Request® Condensed Tomato Soup

1/4 cup water

2 tablespoons packed brown sugar

2 tablespoons vinegar

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 pound thinly sliced cooked turkey breast *

3 pita breads (6-inch), cut in half

  • Heat the soup, water, sugar, vinegar and Worcestershire in a 12-inch skillet over medium heat to a boil.
  • Add the turkey. Reduce the heat to low. Cook until the mixture is hot and bubbling. Spoon the turkey mixture into the pita halves.

RECIPE TIPS

  • *Roasted or deli turkey
  • Serving Suggestion:  Serve with baked veggie chips and sliced cucumbers with hummus for dipping. For dessert serve light mint ice cream sandwiches.

    I have substituted pork for the turkey. This is a big hit regardless of which meat I use.
