Crowd-Pleasing Tuna Noodle Casserole

You won't believe how easy it is to make this classic casserole featuring that favorite combination of tuna, noodles, peas and cream of mushroom soup.  This version serves 8, so everyone can dig in!

2 cans (10 3/4 ounces each) Campbell's® Condensed Cream of Mushroom Soup  (Regular or 98% Fat Free)

1 cup milk

2 cups frozen peas

2 cans (10 ounces each) tuna, drained

4 cups medium egg noodles, cooked and drained

2 tablespoons dry bread crumbs

1 tablespoon butter, melted

  • Stir the soup, milk, peas, tuna and noodles in a  3-quart casserole.  Stir the bread crumbs and butter in a small bowl.
  • Bake the tuna mixture at 400°F. for 30 minutes or until hot and bubbling.  Stir the tuna mixture.  Sprinkle with the bread crumb mixture.
  • Bake for 5 minutes or until the bread crumb mixture is golden brown.

RECIPE TIPS

  • Serving Suggestion: Serve with steamed cut green beans. For dessert serve fresh orange wedges.

    I changed the recipe up a little. I had a very hungry family who needed dinner now and not 30-40 minutes later. About 5 minutes into boiling the noodles, I added the frozen peas, to let them cook. Drain. Add all ingredents to the same pot you boiled the noodles in. Mix together and cook for 3-5 minutes until hot. Add cheddar cheese and mix slightly. This came out GREAT and no baking needed. Oh, I also omitted the breadcrumbs and butter since I did not bake.

    I often substitute asparagus for peas and ham for tuna, then add mushrooms.

    I added fresh garlic, a quarter of a cup of parmesean cheese, cauliflower, carrots and broccoli and finally I added both bread crumbs and shredded marble cheese on top. Yummy!

    If you like tuna, then you will love this. We make it once a week and my kids love it too!
